Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm were two brothers born in Frankfurt in the old German kingdom of Hesse. They studied law but were passionately interested in folklore. Jacob was also a philologist studying the language.

About the book:
The book was published in 1812. It contains 210 short stories including the original version of Cinderella, Sleeping beauty, Snow White, and much more.

Why I selected this book:
It felt good historic bedtime old stories that were told by grandparents. (Feel childhood once again)

What makes this book useful:
▫️ Every story ends with something unpredictable and engaging way.
▫️ The morals of every story
▫️ Healthy storytelling bond between parents and child.

The original version consists of very dark or traumatic stories. I.e. Stepmother killing her son, boiling witches.
Now, the version is made suitable for children.

The story taught us the lesson-
▪️ The downfall of pride
▪️ Greed
▪️ Humility
▪️ Love
▪️ Good over evil

Here I would summarize one story from the book.
"The golden bird"

It's a story about the youngest son of a gardener who has to bring a golden bird to the order of the king.
The difficulty, and traps he faced. A mysterious creature helps him on his journey which takes an amazing twist in the end.

To whom the story is intended:
πŸ”Ή Children, young readers. Even adults also are meant to read it.

I recommend this book and do tell the moral of 'The golden bird'.
